Turning Things Around...For Me.
I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that things were a bit tough here....
I've decided that it was the combination of fatigue + heavy workload + looming deadlines + child struggling that was causing the distress.
I spent a day or two in panic and worry and then I decided to do what I do best of all....
TURN THINGS AROUND.
Now, there were two people in the equation and, while I wasn't sure I could *fix* things for Winnie, I knew I could start taking better care of myself.
So, despite the deadlines and work and external responsibilities, I did FOUR things:
I started going to bed early. Epically early (for me).
I committed to exercise/movement every day.
I vowed to meditate for 5 minutes in the morning and before bed.
I decluttered. I cleared my space to make room for rest & relaxation.
And things started looking brighter. Immediately.
Feet firmly in the present, I began to regain my more typical sunny outlook on life.
Problems all gone? Of course not. They were still there, waiting to be dealt with, but instead of feeling like problems they started to feel like opportunities.
Opportunities to grow and learn and challenge myself.
Opportunities I was completely capable of taking and reaching and accomplishing.
What do you do to *turn things around* for yourself?
