Our Favorite Project: Count the Stairs.

The photo shoot has come and gone and we're a pretty tired bunch.

Having the house featured in Kingston Interiors was a little mini-secret dream of mine, 2 1/2 years in the making...so Wednesday felt kind of epic for me.

Winnie wasn't really in the mood for co-operating. She was at her *introvert who hates new people and new things and cameras* worst. She drew on a wall right before it was photographed and Jamie ended up having to leave with her. Not exactly the day we were dreaming of, as we spent countless nights toiling away. Not to mention the 4 years of being the best parents we can be....left wondering what the hell we're doing wrong?

But then I remembered a little mantra from Susan Jeffers, author of Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway:

"It's all happening perfectly"

I took a deep breath and a step back from all the fear and worry and anger......and I was able to see the wonderful opportunity this little gal is offering us.

The opportunity to learn more about ourselves and each other, how to communicate with dignity and the true meaning of building a family and a home.

I hope when the mag comes out in April I am able to look at the pages of pics and remember that it all, truly did, happen perfectly.

That said, here is one of our favorite projects!
We pulled this one out of the bag in the eleventh hour.....

I'd been collecting the numbers for almost three years and we finally took the time to paint and install them:

I totally love watching the girls count the numbers, forwards and backwards, backwards and forwards..... Fun!
