Poop Nugget.

Last night after dinner, Pippa put a box over her head and ran around the house, ramming into walls and furniture.... It was hysterical, if painful to watch. We felt so proud.
[Do you remember that scene in the movie Parenthood?]

Later, Winnie and I were in the bathtub having a staring contest.

The rules were simple: No blinking. No laughing.
The first one to crack loses.
I was winning 47-2.
We started round 50 and Winn was determined to win.
She was barely breathing, intensely focused, keeping her eyes open and her face straight.
I played dirty. To make her laugh, I stuck my finger up my nose.
But that kid is tough, she wouldn't give in. She dug deeper, pushed harder.....

And then she pooped.

Just a little nugget....floating to the surface.
"Oh, sorry mom!!!" she yelled as she scooped it out and ran it to the toilet.
We laughed and laughed and laughed while she finished her *business* and I re-filled the tub.

Yesterday I was reading "kids are worth it!" by Barabara Colorosso for the third time.

At the end of one of her chapters she writes:

"The greatest part of each day, each year, each lifetime is made up of small seemingly insignificant moments. Those moments may be cooking dinner, taking out the trash, stopping at a stop sign, relaxing on the porch with your own thoughts after the kids are in bed, playing catch with a child before dinner, speaking out against a distasteful joke, driving to the recycling centre with a week's newspapers. But they are not insignificant....."

She forgot pooping in the tub.
