This is it. The last one.
No more holiday posts until next fall.....
The Video Collage
Jamie and I decided to reduce the spending on gifts for each other this year.
We don't really need new "stuff".
We don't really need anything.
Every year one of us buys the other a piece of art (more on that later!) and it was my turn this year. I bought Jamie a piece of art for our foyer and then that was it....budget blown!!!
Money or no money I knew there was just one more thingI really wanted to give him.
A homemade gift that wouldn't cost a penny:
A compilation of our last 3 years of video clips.
We have them everywhere....old computers, cameras, iPhones, emails.
All over the place and never really watched.
So, I dug up all the clips, I uploaded them into our Mac, and then (using iMovie) I turned them into a small movie.
A time line that started with us dating (it actually went back about 6 years) and brought us right up until the week before Christmas.
It's really amazing.
Not because it was well done (it was WAY more work than I anticipated and I could have used MANY more weeks of working time) and not because the clips are award winning or idyllic or even very well cut (I've got the lingo now!).
It's amazing because it's a visual history of us....stages, places, people and memories that we might have lost.
Moments that fade, slowly, as we age.
We love to watch it today and, with every passing year, it will only become more valuable.
The actual *movie* is 75 minutes long...
I won't bore you with it BUT iMovie has this hysterical program where you can create a *trailer* for your movie.
[You need to open it to see the full screen!]
It isn't really a great representation of the actual gift I made Jamie but it's pretty funny to see what you make with iMovie and 15 minutes!
Have a Wonderful, Snow-filled Weekend!
