We borrowed this idea.
My sister's boyfriend's father (phew!) made her one of these piggy cutting boards for Christmas a few years ago. He then, very graciously, delivered some ironwood to our door, from his farm in Espinola, so Jamie could make some of his own.
Last year Jamie was way too swamped with renos to get involved in the Holiday preparations and the piggies had to wait. The wood travelled with us from home to home until this year when Jamie really had the chance to get stuck in!
He planed and jig-sawed and sanded and treated an entire herd (flock? school? gaggle?) of these pig cutting boards.
The wood is so beautiful and durable....we kept a couple for ourselves:)
