Cakes and Questions and a Girl Who is Three.

She's three. Three years ago today, on Thanksgiving morning, we met her. Her big blue eyes. Her chubby cheeks. Her slippery little bum.

Everyday, we love her as hard as we can and I'm pretty sure she knows it.

Things aren't always easy, because she's a complicated gal, but life with Winnie is always interesting. And exciting. And so much more fun.

The curls, the smile, the fearlessness.
The dancing to "a song only she hears".
Oh, to be three.

The Cake








My first attempt at decorating with fondant. I took inspiration from the blog Not Without Salt. I watched the video below and it looked so easy, I decided to give it a try!

It wasn't so easy. I made lots of mistakes and there are more than a few lumps and bumps on my cake (not to mention the hideous silver cake board I forgot to hide!).....but it was fun and, with a little practice, I think the results could be much much better!
