The Holiday Guide 2012: Gifts for Nieces and Nephews!
I am sitting here sipping my very first egg nog latte of the season.....
Mmmmmm, JOY!
I've decided to make the first of the holiday blogs a sweet little gift idea for nieces, nephews, crafty neighbours or friends.
It's part Pinterest inspired, part *sale at Michael's* inspired.
It's 100% easy and adorable.
I saw the photo above on Pinterest a few weeks ago, with a great tutorial on how to make these neon and neutral bowls.
You can find the full tutorial HERE on The Red Thread Blog.
It's a beautiful blog and Lisa Tilse, the designer and author, takes you through the steps to making the bowls with beautiful pictures and simple instructions....starting with how to make the *cords* from old tshirts and threads...
The funny thing is, a few weeks before seeing this tutorial I picked up a whole bunch of these balls of yarn, on clearance at Michael's:
They were originally around $6 and I paid around $1 per roll. I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do with them, but I'm really big on red and pink for Christmas this year...so a snapped them up! I am going to use this *yarn* to skip several of the tutorial steps, making this a super fast project.
As gifts, I think these little bowls filled with stamps and stickers and washi tape and cute stationary would be perfect for little crafters.
Check out Cute Tape for the the loveliest and most affordable selection of washi tapes, paper tapes, stamps and wrapping supplies. {I've ordered from them many times and their products are fantastic!}
All of the above photos from Cute Tape.
Great gifts, with a homemade touch, for as little as $15!
