DIY Deodorant.

My friend, G, passed along this recipe a few weeks ago and I decided to give it a go for a few reasons:

1. I stink. I don't usually....I can go for months without wearing deodorant and smell just fine and then, all of a sudden, I start to smell. Not sure why? My diet has been great.... Anyways, I need something at the moment and this seemed like the perfect solution.

2. I've never liked deodorants or anti-perspirants because of the aluminum and paraben ingredients. There have been links to breast cancer and Alzheimer's. Though not 100% conclusive, I'm still wary.
Read More Here.

3. The other natural products I've tried have never worked for me. They stain my clothes and, for some reason, I feel like I sweat more when I'm wearing them? Weird.

I whipped up a batch of this simple homemade deodorant and, I have to say, I'm loving it. It goes on so smooth, it smells great and I just can't get enough coconut oil on my skin! It's the best!

Homemade Deodorant

1/2 C baking soda
1/4 C corn starch
6 Tbsp coconut oil
10 drops of tea tree oil
3 of essential oil (lavender, sweet orange, lemon grass....I really like grapefruit!) **Add as much as you like.

Mix until smooth and put into glass jars.
Yield: two 125 ml glass jars.

I keep the one I'm using in my bathroom and the other in fridge, for later use.

Smell Ya Later.

  2. I am going to try this! My current all natural deodorant is a bit sticky and fuzz from my clothes keep coating my armpits.... Not a good look ;) Thanks!
