More Upcycling.....

This wasn't so much about restoring life to the new house as much as it was about saving money.

Our new place is bigger than our last and, as these things usually go, the budget was pooched long before we got to the "furnishing & decorating" stage of the project.

There were a few pieces in our old basement that I was on the verge of chucking in the move. I've inherited my mother's cutthroat ability to "get rid" and these pieces very nearly ended up at the local Value Village.

Thankfully, I had a bit of vision to see past the imperfections and the foresight to recognize that we may need this stuff, whether we liked it or not.

We kept it and moved it and then I fixed it up with some cheap, easy repairs and a few coats of Benjamin Moore Natura in bright poppy colors! I love the results and I love that we were able to make what we have work.

I have a few more pieces in need of an overhaul...hopefully I'll get to them by summer??

  1. Christina told me that you guys were homeless now. What a liar.

  2. Those look great! I've been looking for an accessible paint with low/no VOCs. Would that Natura fit the bill? It always feels so amazing to give new life to something that would otherwise be tossed.
