The house is still 2 weeks-ish from being move-in ready (with baby due in 6 days....) but check out these pics!

We have (some) paint and (some) lights and (some) tile...
It's easy to lose track of how much is changing when you're up to your eyeballs in it everyday, but I'm amazed to look back at my last post and see how far we've come!
So far, the floors are my favorite. They are recycled barn board from St. Jacobs Ontario. Bought from a Mennonite family and sent to another family business (Hamilton Wood Products) in nearby Hamilton, where our wood was kiln dried, planed, tongue and grooved....and then delivered to our door.
When the wood showed up we were....well we were scared sh*&tless, though neither of us admitted it. We had no idea how this 100 year old wood would (lol) possibly work as a family floor (grilled cheese and raisins in knot holes, anyone?).
After some VERY long days and lots of extra help, the floors are almost in and, I'm pleased to say, we're not as stupid as we look. They are incredible.
We still have lots of finish work to do and these floors are one of the main reasons we won't be in the house in time for baby #2, BUT I think the floors are going to be a showpiece. Just the soul this very new, modern-ish house needs.
Currently the painting is almost done and tiling is well on it's way. I've been busily working away on some DIY projects which I can start to share in the next week or two as I finish them up.....
I've also been working away on a few ideas to keep me in this space over the next 6-8 weeks because, with on-going renos, a new baby, and a move on the way I'm feeling the need to simplify. Simplify and still connect with all of you; focusing on the positive, the beautiful, and the balance in these hectic days.
Speaking of the positive, did you notice the NEW banner. Another creation by Mr. DJ Berger of red-handed, who continues to spoil me with art and non-stop humour. Thank you, a million times over:)
You know what? I think the pictures are good but they just don't quite do the "transformation" justice.....I may just have to put together another video tour in the next day or two.
Assuming I don't have a baby before then.
