Holiday Gift Ideas: Personalized Gifts!

Some of these I've made, some I've bought. Either way, nothing says "you're special" like a personalized gift....

1. Ida Pearle Prints: I ordered one of these for Winnie last Christmas and it is so gorgeous. They're a bit pricey but destined to become a lifelong keepsake.

2. Handmade Stationary: I love stationary. I especially love stationary personalized just for me! So, last year, I made sets of heat embossed notecards and envelopes for a few special people. Click Here for instructions on "how-to" heat emboss. It's a simple process with professional looking results!

3. Hand painted Dishware: I've done mugs and wine glasses and I'm dying to make sets of dessert plates and/or appetizer plates. Instructions here.

4. Salvaging of Memories
I get a bit distressed at the masses of artwork that come home with my daughter...and she's only two! I'm constantly trying to decide what special creations to save and how to store them.

Here are two beautiful ways to save important pieces of art so they can be shared and seen by all.....

A Photo Book of Art: I plan to start making these every year. I look forward to bookcases full of catalogued artwork. I think "why stash children's art in a box in the basement it can be organized and on display at all times??".

A great gift for grand parents. Check out Snapfish and Lulu.com. This photo is from Inkubook.com

Jan Eleni Artwork Collage: A splurge and a half. Not the kind of gift you buy everyday, but it might be the sweetest way to preserve your child's artwork and paper creations. At Jan Eleni, they carefully review and edit each individual piece and process them individually. The end result is a professionally framed collage, that comes in various sizes. The 60' X 40' collage holds 112 pieces of artwork.

5. Homemade Felt Stockings: Here are simple instructions for felt stockings. Add names, favorite colors, etc. to make them "just right" for your someone special.

6. Personalized Calenders: These are awesome. If you're making them for the whole family, make sure to post pictures of everyone in the family and make note of birthdays, anniversaries and special events that involve the whole family. Minted.com has some really modern designs that will appeal to all!

I haven't made personalized pillows but my friend, V, is making them this year for the little ones in her life. Care to post instructions and pics V?

I'd love to hear your ideas. I'm always looking for something special and new for the next year!
Have a great Weekend!
