I catch Winnie doing this all the time. Climbing to the landing of our stairs to stand and stare at a piece of art we have hanging. Sometimes she giggles, sometimes she says "Darryl!" (the name of the artist) or, like yesterday, she points and shouts "Naked!"....which always cracks the two of us up.
I love that she loves this painting. I love that Winnie is growing up with art around her. I love that she has an opinion. It's beautiful to see.
[Aside: I also wanted to preserve this moment because Winnie is wearing her favorite article of clothing. The second of two, identical, hot pink t-shirts from Cow's Ice Cream in PEI. We received this larger version of the t-shirt from my sister on Monday. Winnie put it on immediately and has worn it DAY AND NIGHT ever since. It's cute but, ugh, it needs to be washed.}
It's been a wonderful week. I really can't believe Friday is here.....despite the tooth pain and yet another failure in the never-ending house hunt, it really was a fabulous week. We were able to spend lots of quality time with good friends and each other. I spent most days, this week, immersed in the happy busy-ness of my work-work and volunteer work, and my evenings were spent plotting and planning a little backpacking trip through England & Ireland with my very excited hubby.
The sun is out, the days are longer and the weather is warm. Our windows are open, the ceiling fans are spinning and everything just feels easier.
It was a good week.
