This Saturday at 2pm, Juno award winner Old Man Luedeke will be performing at The Mansion with Reuben deGroot.I have never seen Old Man Luedeke perform, but Reuben deGroot is a phenom! I first heard his music in January at “A Benefit Concert for Haiti” presented by Live Wire Music and Apple Crisp, a local record label and host to a number of Kingston festivals.

Reuben’s music is quirky and off-beat. It reminds me of a hot, humid summer day when there’s nothing to do but sit on the porch…preferably in a swing, sipping iced tea, watching the world go by. I’m looking forward to many evenings this summer, spent outdoors with good friends, good food and Reuben deGroot.
For more info on Reuben and his music, check out his myspace page.

On a slightly different note: Apple Crisp is also presenting the 5th annual Skeleton Park Music Festival, June 16th-19th. All proceeds from the release of the album, Friends of Skeleton Park (an exciting musical compilation showcasing local musicians such as: Jenny Whiteley, Chris Brown, and Sarah Harmer) go towards the festival!
