It is a beautiful, warm, hazy Saturday morning...in April?! Besides the obvious global warming concerns, I have to say: you just can't beat this weather!
First thing this morning we hit the pavement, ready to get some exercise, play in the dirt and enjoy the sun! (I do mean first thing.....which is why Winnie is wearing pajamas!)
Exercising with a toddler is an exercise in patience.....
It goes a little something like this:
It goes a little something like this:
1. We jog as far as we can until she absolutely HAS to get out of the stroller (15 minutes).
2. We jog with her running beside us (10 minutes). We like to call this "interval training" = start/stop, go forward, run backwards, in a circle, pick up a rock, eat some dirt......repeat.
3. We hit a park, where we take turns using playground equipment as our gym (15 minutes). Push-ups, squats, chin ups, lunges, plank, as fast as possible, while the other chases the babe.
4. We give up. We grab a coffee and let her take the lead.......slowly winding our way home through the streets and lanes of downtown. We explore every bush, bug, crack in the pavement and piece of chewed gum; chatting with friends we run into along the way.
2 hours later, we somehow make it home. Happy, tired, and hopefully in better shape?
