There is something incredibly satisfying about getting 'stuck-in', isn’t there?
We spent the weekend up to our elbows in a re-decorating and re-purposing project that is very nearly finished. We’re waiting on a few pieces of art I bought on Etsy (can’t wait!) and we’re still on the hunt for a teeny table and four chairs we can re-finish. The extra space for play is already much appreciated and being used (and abused!) every minute we are home.
Check out the before and afters……..in 14 pictures, no less!
Formerly an office, then a make-shift guest room.....
With a few fabrics, paint and elbow grease...
Becomes a playroom!

The artwork was all stuff we already had...I framed a few pages from an old Charley Harper day-planner, a favorite card from Winnie's 1st birthday and a Christmas gift we hadn't gotten around to hanging. Winnie loves the colors, the bugs, the gal on a bike....I love that it's not too girly or cutesy. Just grown-up enough that we can all enjoy the space!
Most of the furniture we also had, or found, or picked up cheap. A lick of red paint and everything looks like new!
Does anyone else have re-decorating projects on the go? Have you found ways to re-purpose and/or up-cycle?? I'd love to hear! Send pics!
When I pulled my studio together last summer everything was donated, found on the curb, or bought from a garage sale. I have the best 1960's chairs, sofa and even an crochet blanket that matches. My favorite though is the old kitchen counter top that is my metalsmithing bench, fits my little closet space just perfect.
