I had the pleasure of spending Earth Day with a group of my college students, at The Mulberry Waldorf School around the corner.
As part of my Community Health Promotion class, my students are required to put together and present a Health Promotion Initiative for different populations. In this case, the population was elementary school students and the goal was FUN!

I'm so very proud to report that my students are learning and growing right before my eyes. Through this process they have learned to engage and interact with an audience, bring knowledge and enthusiasm to their initiatives and speak with conviction. There is still much learning to do, but it was incredible to watch my students celebrate Earth Day by teaching those who are younger about living WELL.
I think it's fitting that, on this 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the words that dominate my mind are: Learn. Grow. Change. Encourage. Inspire.
Teaching provides me with the constant reminder that we can all learn, we can all change and grow, and we can all inspire.
If you get a chance today, take some time to send your friends & family some green tips, a favorite 'green' blog (hint! hint!) or a quote because....
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." - The Lorax by Dr. Seuss
Be an inspiration.
Be the change.
Happy Earth Day Everyone!
