Back to Life. Back to Reality.

Our whirlwind tour of the UK came to a grinding halt Sunday night. After almost two weeks of carousing and "getting cultured", we are home.....jet-lagged, weary and so very thankful for our comfy beds.

We had an amazing time getting re-acquainted with old friends and familiar places.

Here's the quick rundown:
We planed, trained, and ferried.

We celebrated Canada Day with Foreigners and Canadians, Sarah Harmer and Tim Horton's (!), poutine and hockey....in Trafalgar square.

We joined "Seaside Day" and seashored our hearts out at the sweetest little private school in Leigh-on-Sea.

We flew to Dublin, got screwed royally by Ryan Air and still managed to have an amazing flight.

We checked in to The Clarence, a hotel owned and designed by BONO and were treated royally...in a good way.

We were served milk and cookies in bed.

We ran into old friends in the streets of Dublin! It's a small world after all......

We met new babies and heard amazing birth stories and had a private tour of Trinity College.

We drank Guinness.

We revisted places of nostalgia and romance. We saw dinos and giraffes and armadillos and the most enchanting puppet show on a barge in little Venice.

We went to Camden Market.

We marched on Abbey Road.

We nearly melted in the heat!!!

What a trip! Oh Europe, it pains me to think it might be another 3 years before we meet again.
Sigh. Such is life.

We are (albeit bittersweetly) happy to be back. Happy to find routine, see our families and get some sleep! This week I'm looking forward to talking sunscreen and superfoods and digging up a favorite pic for Friday.

Ahhh. It's good to be back!
What have you been up to?

  2. oh the pics are awesome, glad you had a good time in Dublin. We miss Little Miss Ahoy Canada, we have been saying "Awrightey then" as much as we can! Looks like a visit to Mooseland is inevitable.

  4. How wonderful! A family vacation sounds quite fabulous, so I'm living vicariously through yours, thanks for taking me along on the ride! I'm sure you'll have some good stories to share in the years to come about this trip. Looking forward to seeing what you choose as "the moment" ...
