It was a lovely, relaxing, homey sort-of weekend.
Here's what we got up to:
Homemade Pesto
Our CSA has been providing us with ample fresh greens and basil. I've been on a pureed diet all week and was getting worried the greens would go to waste. So, I popped out to the grocery store, grabbed some pine nuts and Parmesan and whizzed up the most delicious pesto we've ever eaten. The entire family agrees! We ate and ate and ate until I thought we'd blow up!

I chucked it all in the food processor without thinking, so no recipe per se, just a mix of olive oil, basil, sea salt, garlic and loads of pine nuts until it tastes right. On the advice a few trusted individuals, I add the Parmesan just before serving and freeze the leftover pesto immediately.
The Beginnings of Some Very Special Baby Gifts

I've had mounds of gorgeous organic cotton and terry cloth staring at me for weeks. Yesterday, I finally got down to business on a few of the projects I've been planning: baby blankets, swaddlers, change pads and a few surprises I'm not quite ready to reveal....

I have a stack of half finished blankets to show for my work today. Not bad, considering I also happen to be addicted to the World Cup. Addicted. Can't take my eyes off it.
We are by no means huge sports watchers in this house but we LOVE soccer and, as far as soccer goes, this is as good as it gets. Winnie runs around the house randomly yelling "GOOOOOAAAAALLLLL!" and Jamie keeps talking about quitting his job so he can put in more soccer watching hours....Hmmmmn.

Thankfully, in two weeks we're heading off to England and Ireland where we can happily immerse ourselves in World Cup Fever!
Go England Go!
Happy Monday!
Ummm... I think you're forgetting that your weekend ALSO included a lovely visit with ME! ;)
